摘要

As discussed by Kidston et al. (2002), there is a lack of direct geochemical data from the few wells drilled along the Scotian Slope. To model probable source rocks and their potential hydrocarbon yield, five simulated wells were constructed and analyzed using BasinMod™ software. These wells were distributed fairly uniformly along the length and breadth of the slope and were sited in locations where probable hydrocarbon traps, source rocks and migration pathways exist. An example, from the central part of the slope, is shown in Fig. 4.1.
