There's a case of the left hand taking back what the right hand grants. The government beginning this month is imposing an additional duty on imported steel angle bars to save the ailing local steel industry but, on the same breath, exempts major steel-producing countries.rnExempted from the P7,700 per metric ton 'safeguard duty' 6n steel angle bars are China, India, South Africa, South Korea and even Middle East countries.
