摘要

The electronic structure and excitations of thin films of l,2;8,9-dibenzopentacene are investigated using experimental as well as theoretical techniques. The results are compared to those for pentacene. Our data reveal the interesting result that the electronic states close to the Fermi level and the electronic excitation spectra of the two materials are extremely similar, which is due to the fact that the additional two benzene rings in dibenzopentacene virtually do not contribute to the delocalized n molecular orbitals close to the Fermi level.
