Innovation in the gas utility industry has led to a wide range of improvements in damage prevention, asset maintenance and repair, pipeline integrity and safety along with a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Gas utilities can now carry out maintenance and rehabilitation tasks more efficiently, and with less excavation, through the use of new technology. New innovations include advanced tooling, remote sensing capabilities, process improvements and robotic crawlers and repair systems designed to travel hundreds of feet from one small excavation.
