There has been an "active series" of cyber attacks on natural gas pipeline companies' computer networks over the past four months, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The DHS said "the spear-phishers" (defined as attempting to gain unauthorized access to con-fidential data), who were first detected in March, have targeted a small, select group of employees at U.S. gas companies.
