Board of Directors announced the reorganization of the association. "Reorganization was a necessary response to declining conference attendance and membership over the last several years," said Bob Samborski, Executive Director of GITA. "The goal is to make more content and learning available online." GITA will remain a non-profit association with chapters and international affiliates. Members will continue to receive benefit including the weekly newsletter. Through partnerships with other organizations, GITA will still support certification, provide members GISP points, and represent the industry on influential bodies such as the National Geospatial Advisory Council (NGAC).

While quite a number of English-Japanese dictionaries of business and legal terms have been publishedin Japan, there seem to be very few Japanese-English dictionaries on the market which give clear explanations of thesubtle differences in meaning between the various English equivalents of terms in such specialized fields.
