The American Petroleum Institute (API)rnhas recognized CITGO Petroleum Corporation with an Occupational Safety Performance Award for 2009. The award was announced at the recent 61st Annual Pipeline Conference in New Orleans. CITGO was a recipient in the operator category defined as either having less than 2,500 miles of active pipeline or less than 50 billion barrel miles and less than 1,248,000 combined contractor and employee work hours. CITGO, based in Houston, is a refiner, transporter and marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals and other industrial products. The company is owned by PDV America, Inc., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A., the national oil company of Venezuela.

While quite a number of English-Japanese dictionaries of business and legal terms have been publishedin Japan, there seem to be very few Japanese-English dictionaries on the market which give clear explanations of thesubtle differences in meaning between the various English equivalents of terms in such specialized fields.
