This is a weird book. Its brown imitation-leather cover reminds me of my primary school notebook. Its text flows in Latvian and English in parallel, but 'the Latvian and English texts do differ': Bakule (the cultural heritage preservationist) has written the Latvian text and Siksna (the architect) the English one; 'however, the authors' individual perspectives have not prevented agreement in the overall conclusions'. The two texts seem to follow the same overall structure and discourse, but every now and then you glimpse to the other text checking whether you have missed anything substantial.
