A top executive at CPS Energy said Thursday that the San nAntonio municipal utility’s first-ever sustainability report details nCPS’ far-reaching effort to increase its use of renewable energy nsources, expand its energy efficiency efforts and reduce its ngreenhouse gas emissions.nCris Eugster, CPS’ executive vice president and chief nsustainability officer, also said in an interview that to help nmeet the muni’s voluntarily established goal of having 1,500 nMW of wind, solar and other renewable capacity online by n2020, it plans to issue a solicitation for renewables sometime nin 2011. Details of the request for proposals still are being nworked out, he said. It is likely the RFP will seek offers to pro-nvide both wind and solar power.
