Pinnacle West Capital's net income was $307.1 million last year, down 6.1% from the 2006 record, thanks mainly to a $38 million slide to $12 million from the continuing operations of real estate unit SunCor. Most of the drop ($29 million) reflected lower sales of residential properties as the real estate market continued to slow, Pinnacle explained January 30. At utility Arizona Public Service, net improved 5.2% to $284 million, as electric revenue gained 9.9% to $3.26 billion, though power sales were down.
