Poland’s largest utility, Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE), said Feb. 10 that it has concluded an agreement to jointly develop and operate the Baltica 2 and 3 offshore wind farms with Denmark’s Orsted. Orsted will take a 50% stake in the two projects in a Zloty 657 million ($178 million) transaction expected to close in the first quarter of this year. “Poland is emerging as the front runner in offshore wind in the Baltic Sea and we are very excited to enter the Polish market with this joint venture with PGE,” Martin Neubert, Orsted’s deputy CEO, said in a statement.
