The common grid model is a pan-European initiative for transmission system operators to share operational data from one year out to day ahead, according to formal EU electricity TSO body Entso-e, which is helping coordinate work on this. This shared data will help TSOs coordinate on calculating long and short term capacity, analyzing operational security, planning for outages and grid investments, and forecasting generation adequacy. The overall goal is to improve regional grid planning and security.
