Centrica-owned British Gas has now installed over 600,000 smart meters in the UK and early feedback indicates savings are being made of "at least 2%" of household energy consumption, Managing Director of British Gas Smart Homes Dean Keeling told Platts October 10.BG's smart meter customers were just starting to engage with the technology, Keeling said: "we are seeing savings at least on a par with what the government expects, which is around 2%. We have some customers who save a lot more, and some who don't save anything."
