Central and Eastern Europe has hardly set the world alight over the last year when it comes to investment in new power plant, writes Martin Burdett. Given the global economic conditions, the impact of the euro debt crisis and its consequences on the availability and terms of financing, a decline in investor appetite is only to be expected. However, the slow development of new plant is not entirely related to Europe's current economic woes.
