Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in partnership with France's COMEX Nucleaire has received an order from EDF to supply six replacement steam generators for its pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants in France.rnMHI announced January 8 that it would start delivering the generators in 2013 for completion in 2014. It did not reveal the value of the contract or the name of the plants to be supplied.rnThe project is being managed by EDF's Generation Nuclear Engineering Center (CIPN) at Marseilles. EDF is replacing the steam generators at its PWR nuclear plants, which were commissioned in the 1980s, as part of its nuclear plant component renewal program. EDF operates in total 58 pressurized water reactors in France.
