Next-day prices in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas footprint were lower Monday, while day-ahead prices in the nearby market fell below near-term prices as colder weather was expected ahead. On the Intercontinental Exchange, North Hub next-day on-peak for Tuesday delivery was valued in the mid-$20s/MWh, down about $2 from the settlement for Monday delivery. ERCOT called for its peakload this week to remain below the typical level for this time of the year, as daily peakload is expected to reach between 40 GW and 43 GW Monday through Friday, below the month-todate average of 45.6 GW and the average of 48.6 GW in January 2018. Wind generation was expected to fall from high levels seen over the weekend, with average generation set to fall from 15.8 GW Sunday to 11.2 GW Monday and 7.3 GW Tuesday, 6 GW Wednesday, 8.5 GW Thursday and 8.4 GW Friday.
