A wide swath of energy sector interests were joined by CommodityFutures Trading Commission members Thursday in airing concernsthat energy derivatives could suffer substantially under bankingregulators’ recent proposal for measuring counterparty risk in newcapital regulations.Sue Kelley of the American Public Power Association recalledspending many hours after Dodd-Frank Act passage explaining tothe CFTC how commercial end users of derivatives, seeking tohedge physical commodity risk, hoped to be treated differently fromother entities.
