Going green is a business decision for more than 60 businesses in the Elizabeth River watershed, a Chesapeake Bay estuary in Hampton Roads, Va., home of the world's largest naval station and one of the world's busiest har-bors, the Port of Hampton Roads. To further the efforts of these businesses, and to fund additional restoration of the highly degraded Elizabeth River, the EPA on Thursday, Jan. 17 awarded two grants totaling more than $1 million, including a coveted targeted watershed grant, to the Elizabeth River Project, an environmental non-profit begun by four people around a kitchen table in 1991.
