RWE Npower has called for a judicial review of the government's carbon capture and storage competition. "We were surprised and disappointed not to be shortlisted for the government competition,especially given the strength of our project and the range of experienced partners we'd brought together," the company said in an e-mail. The Department of Energy and Climate Change responded: "Work on the UK's carbon capture and storage demo project...is continuing as planned with the pre-qualified bidders. Given that legal proceedings have now been commenced, it would be inappropriate to comment further but we are robustly defending this challenge."
