Small independent suppliers Electricity 4 Business and Bizz Energy have gone into administration because of electricity market 'volatility' and tougher credit conditions. Pricewaterhousecoopers LLP said in a statement issued late on October 22,that it had been appointed to wind up E4B and transfer its 40,000 electricity customers to new suppliers. E4B was an independent retailer of electricity to small and medium size businesses across the UK. The company, based in Milton Keynes, had built up a portfolio of approximately 40,000 customers and employed 140 people. Ofgem said in a statement on October 23 that it had appointed British Gas Trading as the 'supplier of last resort' for the customers of E4B. According to Ofgem six companies volunteered to act as supplier of last resort.
