Northern Ireland Electricity announced an increase of 3.9% in electricity tariffs for over 690,000 of its domestic customers this month.The new tariff, which will apply from November 1, will add around £14.60/year to a typical domestic electricity bill in Northern Ireland.Business customers will see on average a lower increase of 1%, the company said, while some business customers will see their tariff decrease. It is estimated that some 33,000 small and medium-sized business customers who will enjoy a tariff decrease of 2.8%.However, the 18,000 business customers who use larger quantities of power at night-time and weekends will face increases of up to 6%.
