摘要

This paper deals with on-the-machine measurement method by calibration with spheres. The principle of the measurement method is introduced. The position of the top of a measurement probe is calibrated with a sphere when the attitude of the probe is changed. The probe can be detached from the machine during machining. Both shapes of a workpiece and an electrode can be measured by this method. The measurement accuracy is evaluated by simulation considering the positioning error of the probe.
