This article analyzes the development of the forest industry from the second half of the 1950s to the present within the context of 15 RF [Russian Federation] constituent entities whose territories are in Western and Eastern Siberia. This analysis is divided into three periods, which differ with respect to production indicators, forest-sector growth rates, the number and severity of problems, and so on. Taking into account the goals, objectives, and forecasts of the Strategy for Development of the Forest Complex to 2030, it determines the prospects for development of Siberia's regional forest industry on the basis of regional characteristics and trends.
