This article presents an analysis of one of today's most acute problems: economic crime. It considers qualitative trends, the main academic approaches, cause-effect relationships, the reasons for its growth, and ways to overcome it. The author analyzes the identified characteristics of economic crime using law enforcement's fight with regional economic crime in Irkutsk oblast as an example, demonstrating both the broad range of legislative and executive issues and the lack of systematic enforcement activity.
