Based on results of the latest studies, which have shown that oilfields are actually renewable, it is concluded that oil production can be forecast with no fear of depriving future generations. Available estimates of potential hydrocarbon resources are still based on the dominant sedimentation and migration theory. However, in the 1980s, here in our country and abroad, a good many studies were based on the inorganic theory of the origin of oil and gas. Its proponents developed concepts of deep and superdeep searches for new resources in the earth's crust, particularly in the crystalline basement of sedimentary basins.
