摘要

Host, phospholipids play a critical role in the activation of the antimicrobial innate immune response, although several in-tracellular pathogens can either co-opt or disrupt lipid metabolism to inhibit this defense (1). For example, Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) inhibits phos-pholipase D (PLD)-dependent phosphatidic acid (PA) generation, critical for the maturation of phagolysosomes and necessary for intracellular killing of microbial pathogens (1, 2). On these grounds, unique tools to recover or strengthen lipid metabolism involved in phagolyso-some maturation could be clinically useful in enhancing innate antimicrobial responses.
