I am in the process of earning an M.S. in Safety at Eastern Kentucky University and as part of the curriculum I recently studied an older article by Bruce Lyon titled "Improving Ergo IQ: A Practical Risk Assessment Model" that was published in the December 2013 issue of PS (pp. 26-34). Ergonomics is one of my least favorite safety topics because its scope is so broad within an already broad field. However, I agree that it is important, and the article does an excellent job of providing useful ideas and methods to frame the issues and sort them into manageable parts. In particular, I like the idea of prioritizing job ergonomics issues using the priority path, because it allows for the maximum amount of participation and buy-in from the team members.
