Let's face the facts. As SH&E professionals, we regularly encounter crucial conversations. Sometimes we do well and, unfortunately, sometimes we do poorly. I have experienced both and have suffered the agony of defeat on many occasions. Several years ago, when I discovered Crucial Conversations, I was skeptical-I thought it would be just psychobabble.
