OSHA s new fact sheet, "Radio Communication Can Assist Container Gantry Crane Operators in Marine Terminals," helps longshore employees work safely on the ground, on a ship and in a crane. OSHA believes that radio communication between crane operators, longshore personnel and those working on a ship is vital and will help reduce the risk of injury and property damage because the crane operators no longer will need to rely on line of sight or hand signals from longshoremen to safely and accurately move cargo.
