Working remotely, telecommuting and a distributed workforce continue to become more commonplace. These growing working arrangements challenge OSH professionals and organizational management seeking to keep these workers safe. According to the "Out of Sight, Out of Mind" report from U.K.'s Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), 129.5 million workers in western Europe (about half the estimated worker population) spend at least some time working away from a main office or location. These workers may work in multiple locations, including some with hazards that are difficult to predict and control, and they typically have limited in-person contact with management.
