One-third of workers have not received first aid or CPR/automated external defibrillator (AED) training, says a survey published June 19, 2017, by American Heart Association (AHA). According to AHA, approximately 10,000 cardiac arrests occur in U.S. workplaces each year. Almost 90% of people who have an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest die, AHA says.
