摘要

This project is the first large-N study using public sector data to link diversity management with work-related outcomes. There are two primary findings that warrant highlighting. First, diversity management rnmatters. In each of the four models in which it was included, diversity management was positively and strongly related to job satisfaction and perceptions of work group performance. Second, diversity management matters particularly for employees of color. The interactive variables were significant across both sets of models, indicating that there rnis additional benefit to employees of color when strong diversity management is in place. Organizations wishing to recruit and retain employees of color should strengthen their management practices, not just focus on recruitment, in order to be competitive in the labor market.
