Empresas CMPC and GUSCO Handel G. Schur-feld, one of the European partners of the South American forestry company, are setting up a joint venture named CMPC Europe GmbH & Co. KG. Reports indicate that all activities so far undertaken by GUSCO within the framework of its cooperation with CMPC will be transferred to the joint venture. The newly established company will be responsible for the distribution of the fibre grades produced by CMPC Pulp, the cartonboard produced by Cartulinas CMPC, and the plywood manufactured by CMPC Maderas. Moreover, the operations of Euro-Fibres, CMPC's partner for the Benelux markets, will also be transferred to newly established CMPC Europe.
