I always feel that Barkston Warbirds is the start of the model flying show calendar. This informal fly-in is now one of the best and is attracting model flyers from all over the country. We even had a flyer, Guillaume Ponsoda, who came all the way from France for a second year. RAF Barkston Heath is an ideal place to try out the new models and clean off the dust on the old ones. The huge runways and open areas are perfect for any size of model. Richard Scarbrough and the Grantham & District Model Aircraft Society members run the fly-in in a very low-key informal way, which is both enjoyable and relaxing for everyone.
