I settled on the A-4 Skyhawk as a candidate for a small profile Depron EDF as the stubby delta wing is ideal for the Depron treatment as the increase in chord with decreasing span helps resist the wing root bending moment, giving a mechanically perfect layout, which needs very little extra reinforcement. The end result is a very compact one-piece model, which still has a good wing area. I always use a tapering thrust tube aft of the fan and the separate tailplane sits nicely above the ducting. So the Skyhawk has a lot going for it as an EDF design, as well as being a post war classic jet with plenty of good colour schemes to choose from.
