Although this one took a little longer than anticipated, I do enjoy flying the finished model, however, with regards the mechanical undercarriage... am I the only modeller who has been waiting for servo manufacturers to wake up to the realisation that a scale model requires a retract servo that operates at a scale speed and to offer a high-power servo that takes four or five seconds to do its job? Wheels that go up in the blink of an eye and sometimes with a whack audible above the noise of the motor ruin the scale effect of a flight just as surely for me as an inverted fly-by at knee height by a four-engined WWII bomber travelling only just below the speed of sound. It doesn't look right - and I'm not even what you would call a 'real' scale builder. For me the effect in the air is everything. Please email me with any ideas as to how to go about it - without converting to air retracts!
