My Pippin design, a free plan in September 2005 RC Model World, brought forth some enquiries which might be of more general interest to builders; ranging from assembly to this one about obtaining supplies. Alasdair, During the building of the above model Clearcoat is mentioned in a TOP TIP. I have seen this product mentioned before but am at a loss to know what it is or where it can be obtained. Mick Brooks Clearcoat is made by the Solarfilm company, and is just a clear version of their Solarlac paint. I use Clearcoat for sealing down the edges of Solarfilm (or any film), fuel proofing inside tank or engine bays and occasionally, as on Pippin, for attaching small patches of thin glass cloth, especially when it is to be filmed over because film sticks to it really well. Anyone who sells Solarlac should have it, your local model shop, or at shows like Sandown or Woodvale.
