摘要

This paper surveys the results from [Ols2,Ols3,Ols3,Ols4,OW1,OW2] presented in a talk at the "The 26th Symposium on Real Analysis." These papers introduce and develop a very general and unifying multifractal framework based on deformations of empirical measures. This framework (1) unifies and extends many results in multifractal analysis of local characteristics of dynamical systems and "fractal" measures and (2) provides a systematic basis for the detailed study of so-called divergence points. To motivate this framework, we begin by considering the following (fairly concrete and, perhaps, somewhat artificial) problem.
