This is another Princeton University Press natural history book produced and designed by WILDGuides. WILDGuides appears to be a small company that works with Princeton to publish this expanding collection or series of titles. Two of the directors of WILDGuides, Andy Swash and Robert Still, are listed as compilers of this book along with Dominic Couzens and Jon Dunn. Couzens is a wildlife writer and author. Swash is an ecologist and wildlife photographer and Still an ecologist and graphic designer. Fourth compiler Jon Dunn is a wildlife tour guide and writer. All have been involved in other WILDGuides titles. As with this book, most of the titles produced by the company focus on the wildlife of Britain and Ireland. Probably their two most significant books prior to this publication were Britain's Birds (Hume et al., 2016) (RR 2017/076) and, somewhat different in format and scope, Britain's Habitats (Lake et al, 2015) {RR 2015/181). Other recent WILDGuides titles reviewed in these columns have covered butterflies (Newland and Still, 2015) (RR 2016/019), dragonflies (Smallshire and Swash, 2014) (RR 2015/143) and hoverflies (Ball and Morris, 2015) (RR 2016/053). It should be noted that WILDGuides do cover other geographic areas in addition to the British Isles.
