Terrorism in American Cinema: An Analytical Filmography, 1960-2008 is a selected bibliography of films related to terrorists and terror-related ideologies. The introduction provides a thoughtful and detailed assessment of the ways in which American films have treated the concept and realities of terrorism. Cettl argues that the background of what we today understand as terrorism first began to take shape in the infancy of the Cold War era. By the end of the Second World War, terrorist activity was inextricably linked to government-sponsored espionage.
