摘要

Purpose/background: Certain applications for truck tires can create higher amounts of heat transferred through the wheel to the tire bead. These applications usually require frequent braking such as in bus and waste collection. Even in other applications, any truck tire bead can see very high heat under certain conditions such as descending mountains. When the rubber mixes close to or touching the wheel reach certain temperatures, the mixes can creep as they start to denature. If the product of time and temperature is high enough, the casing reinforcement ply which is anchored in the bead can unwrap, causing a loss of pressure. The purpose of this design is to resist creep in this zone of the tire without adding mass or energy loss while minimizing manufacturing complexity.
