In the January 2015 Recycling Online column, I discussed how our contemporary ideas about myths can include mistaken notions over how a specific municipal recycling program works or which products are alleged to do a better (or worse) job at promoting recycling and waste reduction. This month, I intend to complete my examination of this topic by looking at how views about the social utility of recycling can and have been labeled as myths.
