New or re-built MRFs will continue to open in the coming years, and whether those facilities are filled with new technologies or fed by different collection philosophies, the MRF of today will continue to evolve into the MRF of tomorrow - bigger, more technologically advanced and able to process more materials than in years passed. And, hopefully, with more effective and varied technology working beside more robust public education and communication efforts, greater recovery of recyclable materials will result.
