In 2006, consumer electronics revenues totaled a whooping $145 billion, according to figures from the Consumer Electronics Association (Arlington, Virginia). For 2007, sales figures are projected to exceed the $155 billion mark. With these figures in mind, claiming that the electronics industry is only performing well would be an understatement. With all these growing sales figures comes the other side of the spectrum: 1. What happens to the used and obsolete electronics being replaced? 2. How will this affect the burgeoning electronics recycling industry?
