The list of RoHS exemptions and applications for exemptions continues to expand and it is important that those in the industry keep up to date since design change can take from months to years.The Oko Institut has been reviewing the case for most of these exemption and several will very probably be removed. In parallel, proposals for amendment of the Directive itself are due to be announced imminently which will probably mean Category 8 (medical) and 9 (monitoring and control) require more exemption requests from industry.
