Green chemistry is the utilization of a set of principles that reduces or eliminates the use or generation of hazardous substances in the design, manufacture and application of chemical product1. In keeping with the current trends to bridge new innovations and technologies with environmental issues, CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat has embarked on a mission to develop and promote new discoveries and inventions based on 'green chemistry' principles. Herein we present a brief report on the efforts of the NEISt scientific stuff towards green synthetic methodologies.
