Darwin's theory of Organic Evolution is one of the greatest contributions to human thought like other epoch making theories such as the "Nebular Hypothesis" of Kant and Laplace, the theory of "Laws of Gravitation" of Newton, and the "Relativity theory" of Einstein. But the impact of Darwinism on the development of ideas not only in the realm of biology, with which it is chiefly associated, but also on the other branches of science and philosophy, is very profound. Truly speaking, it has brought a renaissance in the field of Biology, Geology, Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology, Ethics, Philosophy, Theology and many other fields of human thought. For his novel and convincing contribution to the realisation of the doctrine of evolution, which ultimately led to the general acceptance of the idea of evolution against the theory of Special Creation, Darwin is sometimes called the "Copernicus of Biology" by some and while others call him "Newton of Biology".
