摘要

Science and technological growth can bring a major shift in human attitudes towards life and society. The search for new identities and visions on development are therefore related with the growth of scientific awareness in human mind. This growth can be made through three ways - popularisation of science, spread of scientific temper and use of science and technology for the welfare of the common people. This perception has been referred to as the Science Movements. Historically speaking, this movement can be traced in multiple ways in the term of area specificity. The role of individuals, periodicals and organisations (both governmental and non-governmental) in the context of the science movements in general can be taken into account.
