摘要

Doctoral students and postdoctoral scholars who develop new ideas and discoveries are at the nucleus of university technology transfer programs. A survey was conducted to identify the information and library services needs of doctoral students and postdoctoral scholars in the sciences. Access to journals and databases, interlibrary loan, document delivery, e-books, extended borrowing privileges, and library space are important to this library constituency. This underserved library community needs better marketing of library resources and services through online and face-to-face orientations. Science librarians should consider using social networking channels such as Facebook, Linkedln, and text messaging. It is recommended that library privileges for postdoctoral scholars be the same as those for doctoral students or faculty.
