Cullis takes a historic perspective on the development of the electrical and communications sectors. Citing from the blurb of the book: 'It presents a holistic, multidisciplinary analysis of innovation based on case studies of paradigm-changing inventions-spanning two hundred years - which altered the course of the global economy'. Next to a deep analysis of the early years of electrification, a model for the evaluation of the likeliness of successful innovations is provided that is grounded on deductions and inferences from the case studies.
